Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral fiber that because of it's fiber strength and fire retardant properties was used in a variety of building construction materials.  It was said to be present in 2/3's of all the buildings in the United States.

Moisture control is the key to mold control. Molds need both food and water to survive; since molds can digest most things, water is the factor that limits mold growth. Molds will often grow in damp or wet areas indoors.

Lab Experiments

Lead is a chemical element in the carbon group with the symbol Pb.  Pb is a naturally occurring element found in small amounts in the earth’s crust.  Lead was used in building construction, paint, batteries, bullets and shot, weights, solders, pewter, fusible alloys and as a radiation shield.

JLC's in-house laboratory helps us provide building constituent and other sampling results to our clients quickly.    JLC's analytical lab is certified by New York State - Dept. of Health.

Failsafe Training Co., a division of JLC, has been providing environmental health and safety training since 2000.   Failsafe has taught courses in South Korea for the Army Corp of Engineers as well as various locations throughout the United States. 

An Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) is a report prepared for a real estate holding which identifies potential or existing environmental contamination liabilities. The analysis typically addresses both the underlying land as well as physical improvements to the property. Contaminated sites are often referred to as "brownfield sites".
